On a recent episode of DJ Ressie Cup’s music review show, JQX once again proved why the sound continues to stand out across genres. After playing the track “Slow Down,” Ressie didn’t hesitate to give her approval.
“Listen, that was JQX, Slow Down. Great job. I like it,” she said, setting the tone immediately.
Ressie went on to explain that her roots are deeply planted in the world of EDM, techno, house, and underground festival culture. With experience across countless music festivals and electronic scenes, her ear is finely tuned to what truly works in those spaces.
“I’m an EDM techno fan. I’ve done so many music festivals based around EDM, techno, grunge, all that stuff, house, that underground stuff,” she shared. “I’ve always loved JQX.”
What stood out most to her wasn’t just the energy of the track, but its versatility. Ressie highlighted JQX’s ability to consistently bring a unique sound that feels built for more than just streaming.
“Anytime JQX comes through my live, it’s a dope sound—something unique,” she said. “Also something that’s sync placeable, whether it’s video games, movies, or anything of that nature. Something that could be in a lot of different spaces.”
That distinction matters. In today’s music landscape, tracks that can live beyond playlists—inside games, films, and visual media—hold tremendous value. “Slow Down” didn’t just perform well in the live—it revealed itself as music designed for bigger worlds.
Ressie closed with simple but powerful praise: “So great job, JQX. Absolutely love it.”
From festival energy to cinematic potential, “Slow Down” continues to show that JQX isn’t confined to one lane. The sound moves freely—ready for stages, screens, and everything in between.
