Nia Long Receives Her Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

After more than three decades of memorable performances, Nia Long has officially received one of Hollywood’s most recognizable honors—a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

On September 16, 2026, Long was honored with the 2,857th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the Motion Pictures category. The ceremony took place at 6150 Hollywood Boulevard, with Snoop Dogg and Michael producer Graham King appearing as guest speakers.

Celebrating a Black Hollywood Icon

For generations of moviegoers, Nia Long has been a familiar face in films and television projects that became important parts of Black popular culture.

Her career includes Boyz n the Hood, Friday, Love Jones, Soul Food, The Best Man franchise and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, along with numerous other film and television roles. She is also a four-time NAACP Award winner.

The honor was especially meaningful because Long grew up in Los Angeles and remembers walking along Hollywood Boulevard as a child and looking at the stars with her mother. Speaking about receiving one of her own, Long described the moment as something she shares with the generations of women who supported and inspired her.

Her mother, Talita Long, and her two sons were present for the ceremony.

Another Major Moment in 2026

The Walk of Fame ceremony arrives during another important chapter in Long’s career. She recently portrayed Katherine Jackson in the 2026 Michael Jackson biopic Michael.

Long also recently completed production on Netflix’s upcoming romantic drama Don’t Ever Wonder, which reunites her with Love Jones co-star Larenz Tate. She serves as an executive producer on the project as well.

From the films that helped define a generation to new projects introducing her work to younger audiences, Nia Long’s Hollywood star now permanently marks a career that has stretched across decades.
