Harlem rapper and entrepreneur A$AP Rocky is investing in the next generation of creative talent through a four-year, full-tuition scholarship at Long Island University’s Roc Nation School of Music, Sports & Entertainment in Brooklyn. Announced October 6, the scholarship will support one first-time freshman entering in fall 2027.

Established through a partnership between LIU and Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, the school prepares students for careers in music, sports business, performance, and entrepreneurship. Its programs connect classroom learning with practical experience and opportunities to develop professional networks.

Rocky’s journey from Harlem to international recognition shows how music can create opportunities beyond recording and performing. His work across fashion, branding, and business offers an example of the many paths available to creative minds.

For the selected student, covering four years of tuition can ease a major financial burden and create more room to focus on learning, developing ideas, and preparing for a career.

“There are so many talented young people with ideas, ambition and something important to say,” Rocky said in the announcement.

His initiative gives one of those young people meaningful support to pursue that ambition—and highlights the value of successful artists investing in future talent.

Applications close December 15, 2026. Students seeking first-time freshman enrollment for fall 2027 can visit apply.liu.edu/rn for submission details.
